Short-term strategic plan:

The following will be the main focus of Forest Action UK during the first 1-2 years:

• To promote Forest Action UK as a new organisation and to create wider awareness of it's philosophy, approach and capacity
• To seek for sources of grants, funds and for partnership opportunities that can be utilised to contribute to the achievement of Forest Action UK's strategic objectives - particularly through the work of ForestAction Nepal during the immediate period (years 1-2)
• To disseminate information about Nepal and the work of ForestAction Nepal
• To strengthen (and if necessary formalise) the mutual partnership arrangements between Forest Action UK and ForestAction Nepal
• To seek to identify and build linkages with similar organisations both in UK and elsewhere (with a focus on less developed countries) with the aim of establishing longer-term partnership arrangements
• To establish Forest Action UK formerly in Scotland through initiation of all the necessary systems for its legal registration, financial accounting and other aspects of its functioning

The following will be the main focus of Forest Action UK during the subsequent 3-5 years:

• Raise funds for specific projects
• Share experiences and expertise
• Disseminate learning
• Conduct research and education
• Facilitate cross-linkages with other organisations (outside UK and Nepal)
• Expand the functioning of Forest Action UK
• Evaluate and review strategy
